Captain Jerry East
Jerry East is a Captain with the Hood County Sheriff’s Office and has been in that position since January 2009. He is a 20 year veteran of this office and has risen in the ranks since joining in 1989.
During his career with the Hood County Sheriff's Office, Captain East has been involved in major investigations involving fugitive apprehensions, property and violent crimes. He has received numerous commendations to include: Meritorious Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart while saving a life in an attempted suicide. He also arrested an "America's Most Wanted" subject wanted for the rape of women working in real estate. Captain East was named "Man of the Year" for Hood County in 2007.
Captain East is 3rd in command of the Sheriff's Office and has primary supervision of the Patrol and Criminal Investigation Divisions.
